Gogo Fusion: Row, Reflect, Rejoice - The Dynamic Essence of the Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday that takes place on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It commemorates Qu Yuan, a prime minister from the state of Chu during the Warring States Period. The festival involves dragon boat races, eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and praying for good luck while taking a break from the summer heat. In September 2009, the festival was recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, making it the first Chinese holiday to receive this honor.
